Ramona Amia Kruithof, 68, of Mooringsport, Louisiana, passed away February 4, 2020 after a two and a half year battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Amia was the daughter of Horace and Agnes Trice of Mooringsport, LA, Born June 25, 1951 in Colorado Springs, CO. She graduated from North Caddo High in 1969. She spent most of her life living in her hometown of Mooringsport, LA until in 1993 when she moved to Texas and became a Corrections Officer for The Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

She leaves as her legacy one son, Garrett Scott Kruithof, of Mooringsport, LA and her three grandchildren, Brinon Scott Kruithof, Reagan Briann Kruithof, and Julian Brandt Kruithof. She also leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Sherry Groll of Shreveport, LA and Sherry's children; her nephews, Carl and Brice Groll; and her niece, Stacey DePrang and their families.

She was preceded in death by Horace R. Trice, her father and Agnes O. Trice, her mother.

Amia spent the majority of her career as a Corrections Officer at The Clyde M. Johnston Unit in Winnsboro, TX where she leaves behind many friends and co-workers who, after spending twenty years there, became like family.

Upon retirement Amia moved to De Leon, TX to be near her best friend of sixty plus years, Becky Moore. They shared new adventures together and were due for many more until Amia's battle with Cancer.

Amia loved animals, especially her faithful rescue dog of thirteen years, her Miniature Pinscher, Pete. If you'd like to make any donations in her honor, please do so to your favorite local animal rescue or humane society.

A  memorial service celebrating Amia's life was held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Methodist Church in Mooringsport, Louisiana.
