Obituary

The morning of Saturday, March 16, 2024, Becky Hurteau won her battle! She rose in victory to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by her mom, children, and other family members that loved her dearly!

Becky was born on January 2, 1971, in Hamilton, Texas to Donna (Harris) Byrd and Eddie Ebeling. Becky graduated from Stephenville High School in 1989. She then married her late husband, Roy Hurteau, in January of 1993. Becky gave birth to their son, Dustin Bradley, on August 05, 1993, followed by their daughter, Desiree DeAnn, on December 17, 1995. Becky graduated from Central Texas College in May of 2013. Her passions included reading, and she was always devoted to her job at the De Leon City County Library where she was employed for over twenty years. She loved being a Nana to her 4 grandkids. Her other hobbies included scrapbooking, going to auctions, garage selling, and running her Etsy shop.

Becky is survived by her mother, Donna Byrd; father, Eddie Ebeling; grandmother, Lila Mae Ebeling; son, Dustin Hurteau and wife, Jolee; daughter, Desiree Ross and husband, James; and four grandchildren, Kynleigh Ross, Mikaela Ross, Haidyn Ross, and Cohen Hurteau. She is also survived by numerous extended family members, many friends and loved ones, as well as her lifelong companions - her golden retriever, Gracie, and her corgi, Waffles.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Earl Hurteau; brother, Marcus Ray Ebeling; and grandparents, Odie Eddie Ebeling, Obey James Harris, and Dorothy Nell Harris.

A celebration of life was held Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Rick Sowell officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the De Leon City County Library or to the De Leon ISD Band, in memory of Becky.
