Ricky Edward Woods passed away peacefully from this life on June 28, 2024. He was born on May 29, 1957, to Charles and Joan Woods in East St. Louis, Illinois.

He attended Tri-Ad High School in Troy, Illinois. In 1977, he moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where he married Shelley Childress on Feb. 13, 1978. He worked most of his life as a printer, engraver and camera technician. He worked for 20 years at 'The Worth Engravers' in Fort Worth and for 10 years at Stephenville Printing Company. Ricky loved to travel and saw much of the country in his younger years. Camping, fishing, boating and playing his guitars were his favorite hobbies. Family vacations were always an adventure. He loved spending time with friends and family. He was an avid gardener and is known for his green thumb. His gardening and landscaping talents were amazing. He loved learning about nature and spent most of his time outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Joan Woods; brothers, Russell and Duane Woods and sister-in-law, Patti; wife, Shelley; and his son, Shane and daughter-in-law, Mia. Ricky has three grandchildren, Billy Castillo, Micayla Woods and Isabella Woods, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Ricky's life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at 'The Way Fellowship Church in De Leon with Bro. Heath Sylvia officiating.
