Robbie Dale Davis, 57, of De Leon, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
He was born November 29, 1956, in Gorman, Texas, to Rupert Dale Davis and Hazel Marie Cavitt.
Robbie lived in the De Leon area most all of his life. He was an active member of Assembly of God Church of De Leon where he played the bass guitar. He had worked for many years as a truck driver for Walmart. He loved to fish and hunt. Robbie was a loving and compassionate person. His family called him a "gentle giant".
He is survived by his brothers, Jerry Cox and wife, Pat, and Jackie Elton Cox; nieces, Brenda Easley and husband, Eldon, and Joni Kaye Cox; great niece, Katie Warren and husband, Quaid; great nephew, Weston Easley and wife, Jennifer; many cousins; and a host of friends.
Robbie has gone home to join his father, Rupert Dale Davis; mother and Pastor of Full Gospel Light House Church of De Leon, Hazel Marie Davis; brothers, John Dean Cox and Milton Ray Cox; maternal grandparents, John and Ruby Evans; and paternal grandparents, Robert D. and Dellie Elizabeth Davis.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 14, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home. Graveside services followed in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Comanche County. Pastor Elwayne Schaeffer officiated the services.
Pallbearers were Eldon Easley, Weston Easley, Quaid Warren, Tim Matthews, Gene Bingham, Glen Davis and Dennis Otwell. Honorary pallbearer was Buddy Hooper.
