Robert Alex Gomez, 72, went home to meet his Lord March 21, 2019. He was born May 12, 1946, to Bill and Elizabeth Rodgers Gomez in Eden, Texas. Robert was a loving son, grandson, brother and uncle. He had a special life-long bond with his loving siblings. He will be deeply missed by his loving family.

Robert was a resident of Abilene Supportive Living Center for over eighteen years. He loved his special family at the center as they were always so loving and kind to him. He enjoyed listening to music and playing with balls. Robert loved the affection his family always gave to him.

He is survived by his brother, Ernest Gomez and wife, Barbara; sister, Betty Williams and husband, Ronnie; nephews and nieces, Ernest Escamilla and wife, Becky, Michelle Perez and husband, Tony, Ernestine Gonzales and husband, Gonzalo, Jane Martinez, Emma Gonzales and husband, Ernesto, Marilyn Harbour and husband, Steve, Rosalinda Torrez, and Ernest Gomez, Jr.; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; brother-in-law, Joe B. Martinez; and other extended family. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Elizabeth Gomez; and sisters, Ernestine Gomez and Josie Martinez.

Private graveside services were held March 23, 2019, in De Leon Cemetery with Deacon Bill Bolf officiating.
