Robert Tyler Menzel's Obituary
Robert Tyler Menzel, a retired teacher, died peacefully at his home on October 20, 2013. Mr. Menzel was born in New York, NY on September 15, 1922.
He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice Rose Johannsen, whom he met in the Navy during WWII, and his great granddaughter Anna Jane Brashear.
Mr. Menzel is survived by three daughters and one son: Dorcas Brashear and husband, Ron; Kelsey Menzel and partner, Allan Jones; Barbara Gardner and husband, David; and David Menzel and wife, Vivian.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Amy Bowman, Teisha Sherrard, Benji Nabors, Bobby Brashear, Brian Brashear, Kristen Hardin, Whitney Mathews, Kelsey Menzel and Tyler Gardner, and by numerous great grandchildren.
No services will be held for Mr. Menzel. Friends wishing to memorialize his life are asked to consider the Anna Brashear Foundation at www.brashearfoundation.org. This foundation raises funds for pediatric leukemia (AML) research.
