Roger Dale Yancey's Obituary
Roger Dale Yancey, 74, of Richardson, Texas passed away October 18, 2017, in Plano. He was born September 5, 1943, in Gorman, Texas to Jefferson D. Yancey and Willa Deane Dupuy Yancey.
Roger proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He was employed as a Registered Nurse for many decades. Roger enjoyed attending major league baseball games and traveling anytime he had the opportunity. He was a loving son, brother and friend and he will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his two brothers, John Davis Yancey and wife, Mona, and Steven Dean Yancey and wife, Daree; best friend, Joyce Rothermel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson and Willa Yancey; brother, George Dawayne Yancey, and sister, Beverly Diane Batey.
A celebration of Roger's life was held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Comyn Baptist Church, Comyn, Texas. Graveside services followed in Oliver Springs Cemetery, Comanche County.
