Ronnie Seborn Golden, 65, of De Leon, won his battle with cancer and met this Lord and Savior Thursday, September 12, 2019. Ronnie was born March 3, 1954, in Gorman, Texas to Seborn Eugene Golden and Betty Frances Johnson Golden. Ronnie married his loving wife of 44 years, Becky Lowery, February 14, 1975.
Ronnie lived in Comanche County most all of his life. He graduated from De Leon High School Class of 1972. He was a farmer and rancher, a job he truly loved. He grew cotton, peanuts and watermelons. He also raised cattle and worked in Real Estate. Ronnie served on many committees and organizations in De Leon. He served as President of the Comanche County Water Board, Treasurer of the Peach and Melon Festival, and President of the De Leon Livestock Committee. He lived life to the fullest and thoroughly enjoyed his many hobbies including hunting, fishing, farming, hunting arrowheads, and any activity that allowed him to spend time outdoors in God's country. He loved his hunting and fishing trips he spent with his many close friends and family. Ronnie also enjoyed reading and spending as much time as possible with his family, especially his grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy in life and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Becky Golden; mother, Betty Golden; daughter, Amber Bates and husband, Justin; son, Matthew Hunter Golden and wife, Meagan; grandchildren, Kinsey Reagan Bates, Cason Hunter Bates, Caroline Kate Bates, Cole Seborn Bates and Makynlie Jayce Ryon; brothers, Gary Eugene Golden, John Harvey Golden and Jackson Emory Golden; brother-in-law, Burl Lowery and wife, Agatha; mother-in-law, Betty Lowery; uncle, Jack Johnson and wife, Nancy; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family; and many dear friends. Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Seborn Golden; and grandparents, Harvey and Thursie Johnson and Sannie Emory and Cora Golden; and father-in-law, D.D. Lowery.
Funeral services celebrating Ronnie's life were held Saturday, September 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Brother Daniel Harper and Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Ronnie was laid to rest in De Leon Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Gary Golden, Johnny Golden, Jackie Golden, Hunter Golden, Justin Bates, Burl Lowery, Cason Hunter Bates and Cole Seborn Bates.
