Obituary

Ronnie "Scuba" Williams, 72, of De Leon, peacefully passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, in Ft. Worth. He was born February 1, 1950, in Gorman, Texas to D.S. Williams and Dora Ann Morris Williams. Ronnie and his wife Betty Gomez Williams shared a loving relationship of thirty years.

Ronnie lived in the De Leon community his entire life other than when he attended college and during his military service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Ronnie was a longtime farmer and rancher. He loved tending to his cattle, doing carpentry work, reading, listening to music, gardening, and working brain puzzles. Ronnie and Betty enjoyed traveling all over the United States as well as the United Kingdom where they visited Scotland, Ireland, and London. His favorite harvests were his peaches, apricots, and pears. He loved all holidays and the time he spent with all his family celebrating each season. Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be missed beyond measure.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Williams; daughter, Michelle Perez and husband, Tony; son, Ernie Escamilla and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Lindsey Perez, Zac Perez and wife, Kelli, Krista Alvarado and husband, Jose, and Kevin Escamilla and wife, Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Perez, Liam Perez, Weston Alvarado, Whitten Alvarado, Emersyn Escamilla, and Parker Escamilla; brothers, Billy Ross Williams and wife, Tawana, and James Kenneth Williams and wife, Yvonne; sister, Sue Nell Williams; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Betty Joyce Williams.

Military graveside services were held Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Oliver Springs Cemetery with Kevin Escamilla officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Heart of Heart Hospice C/O Katherine St. Clair, 6940 River Park Circle, Ft. Worth, Texas 76116, in memory of Ronnie.
