Ruby May Shafer Pratt, 83, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Friday, January 10, 2014.

She was born October 16, 1930, in Dublin, to Amos Franklin Shafer and Martha Jane DeBusk Shafer. Ruby married Lee Edward Allsup in 1948 and together they raised four children, Thurman, Sheila, David and Grace. Ruby later married Jim Pratt May 10, 1986.

Ruby was a member of Fair Haven Baptist Church of De Leon. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and using social media to keep in touch with her friends and family. She was immensely outgoing and never met a stranger. Ruby had a wonderful sense of humor and a cheerful spirit. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her four children; Thurman Allsup and wife, Charlotte, Sheila Godsey and husband, Roland, David Allsup, and Grace Everhart and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Tim Wilkie, Laura Goode, Danny Allsup, Becky Allsup, Crystal Freeman, Tina Allsup, Maddie Allsup, Tim Allsup and wife, Andrea, Elizabeth Godsey, Christopher Godsey, Amanda Everhart and Angela Gee; great-grandchildren, Adam Wilkie, Alexis Maness, Saylor Wilkie, Evan Goode, Sarah Goode, Aaron Goode, Tyler Freeman, Logan Johnston, Brianna Allsup; Scott Everhart, Kimberlynn Everhart and Roselee Everhart; great-great granddaughter, Makayla Maness; sister, Dorothy Biggs and husband, Tommy; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.

Ruby has gone home to join her late husbands, Jim Pratt and Lee Allsup; grandsons, Matthew Allsup and Christopher Wilson; sisters, Estelle Swindle and Ivy Batson; and brothers, Weldon, Delbert, Everett and James.

Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery. Pastor Judy Richmond and Brother Kenneth Wilson officiated the services.
