Obituary

Sammy Barron Ramirez, 62, of De Leon, peacefully passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020. He was born August 13, 1958, in Greely, Co. to Juan and Carmen Barron Ramirez.

Sammy was employed for many years with Golden Peanut Company in Comyn, Hanson Farms, and also with the City of De Leon. He was a Catholic and lived in Comanche County most all his life. Sammy loved to work, spend time outdoors, and especially loved to fish. He was a family man and was always his happiest while with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Surviving Sammy are his children, Sammy Ramirez, Jr. (Edna Marcela Marquez), Samuel Barron Ramirez (Tessie Brownlee), Michelle Hernandez (Leonardo), Jennifer DeLeon (Lazaro), and Samantha Torrez; fiancé, Deyanira Dominguez Morales DeLaCruz; grandchildren, Christian DeLeon, Miguelan Angel DeLeon, Crystal DeLeon, Juan Manuel DeLeon, Josue DeLeon, Alexis Hernandez, Daisy Hernandez, Daniel Hernandez, Savannah Torrez, Shawn Ramirez, Mason Ramirez, Keyla Ramirez, and Kailey Ramirez; brothers, Rudy Ramirez and Ruben Ramirez; sisters, Carmen Ramirez (Orlando Campos) and Josephine Dominguez; nieces and nephews, Cindy Gauna DeLeon, Jeanette Ramirez, Lino Ramirez, Richard Ramirez, Jr., Echo Ramirez and Severe Ramirez; other extended family; and many friends.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Carmen Ramirez; brothers, Juan, Richard and Raymond; and wife, Olivia Lopez Ramirez.

A viewing will be held Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Per current Covid19 recommendations, only small groups of twenty people at a time will be allowed into the chapel. Masks will be required.

A graveside funeral service celebrating Sammy's life was held Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery.

*Due to the current Comanche County COVID-19 regulations on group gatherings, we kindly ask that any friends planning to attend Sammy's graveside service respectfully stand at least 20 feet from the tent. The tent seating will be reserved for immediate family only. We are saddened that we cannot currently allow friends to pay their respects to the Ramirez family with a traditional visitation and ceremony. The family appreciates your understanding of the graveside safety regulations and is thankful for your continued prayers and kind thoughts during this difficult time. Masks are required in large gatherings.
