Santiago De La Torrez Jr., 68, passed away December 23, 2020, in Austin. He was born November 10, 1952, in Cameron County, Texas to Santiago De La Torrez, Sr. and Maria Perez De La Torrez.

Santiago lived in De Leon most all his life. He was employed for many years as a mechanic for a trucking company. Santiago loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved to spend time outdoors fishing and working on lawn mower engines. He also enjoyed playing games on his tablet. He will be missed by his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Mary De La Torrez; sisters, Mary De La Torrez, Louisa De La Torrez, Stella De La Torrez, Micaela Diela and Soyla De La Torrez; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Tim, Michael, Robert Jr., David Jr., Stella, Andrea, Tanika and Destiney; other extended family; and many friends.

Santiago was preceded in death by his father, Santiago De La Torrez, Sr.; and brothers, Johnny De La Torrez, Larry De La Torrez, Jessie De La Torrez, and David De La Torrez.
