Sarita Concepción (Sara) Reyna, 69, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Friday, September 20, 2019. She was born October 29, 1949, in Falfurrias, Brooks County, Texas, to Crispin Rubio and Librada Castillio Rubio. She married Manuel Montez Reyna July 5, 1969, in Dublin, Texas.
Sara moved to De Leon in 1956 where she and Manuel raised their family. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church of De Leon. She was employed with the De Leon Hospital for many years and worked in different service departments during her career there. She loved her job and the opportunity it gave her to meet and help others. She was a wonderful cook and loved hosting large family gatherings. Sara was a loving person and always gave all she could to help others. She enjoyed many hobbies including playing bingo and fishing. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved all of them dearly and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sara is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Manuel Reyna; sons, Ruben Reyna and wife, Wendy, of De Leon, Rudy Reyna and wife, Amy, of Whitney, and Crispin Reyna of Katy; beloved grandchildren, Kaleb, Joshua, Madison and Ofelia; sister, Josie Rubio Lopez; brothers, Robert Rubio and wife, Lupe, Freddy Rubio and wife, Linda; nieces and nephews, George Garcia, Michael Rubio, Melanie Rubio, Robert Rubio, Jeremiah Rubio, Amy Rubio, Freddy Rubio, Andrew Rubio, Priscilla Rubio, Sabrina Jackson, Crispin Rubio and Octivia Rubio; and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Crispin and Librada Rubio; sister, Janie Garcia; and brother-in- law, Hogan Garcia.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in De Leon. Sara was laid to rest in De Leon Cemetery.
