Obituary

Sheilah Auvenshine, 65, of Beattie, passed away October 2, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was born to T and Charlene Gilchrest July 29, 1953, in Gorman, Texas. Sheilah married Wayland Auvenshine September 26, 1973, at her parent's home in Beattie.

Sheilah graduated from Sidney High School in 1971. She was a cheerleader and played basketball for Sidney. Sheilah lived in Comanche County all of her life and she and Wayland raised their family here. She enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, collecting rocks, and cooking. Sheilah also loved helping Wayland farm and raise cattle. She enjoyed tending to their sheep and goats. Sheilah's greatest joy in life was her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and neighbor. Sheilah will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Sheilah is her husband of 45 years, Wayland Auvenshine; sons, Timothy Lane Auvenshine and wife, Colette, Wayland Tabbert Auvenshine and wife, Christy, Dory Allen Auvenshine and wife, Bonnie, and Jamie Collin Auvenshine and wife, Angie; grandchildren, Gunner, Grey, Daicee, Gabrielle, Anna and husband, Steven, Jessica, Lillian and Magdalynn; great-grandchildren, Helena and Kylie; brothers, Aubrey Dale Gilchrest and wife, Hue, and Marlin Emry Gilchrest and wife, Connie; sister, Elizabeth Ann Burns and husband, Rick; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Sheilah was preceded by her parents, T and Charlene Gilchrest; daughter, Carrie Colette Auvenshine; and brother, Donnie Gilchrest.

The Auvenshine family will receive family and friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home.

A graveside service celebrating Sheilah's life was held Thursday, October 4, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Grey Benson, Terry Gilchrest, Wesley Gilchrest, Ty Gilchrest, Marty Gilchrest, Shonie Auvenshine, Sheridan Godfrey and B.J. Pyburn.
