Obituary

Sherry Bibby, 59, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior March 17, 2018, with her loving family by her side. Sherry's cancer was finally defeated and she was awarded God's amazing grace.

Sherry was born July 20, 1958, in Gorman, Texas to James and Freda Riggs. She married her husband of twenty-eight years, Danny Bibby, on March 3, 1990. Sherry worked for F & M Bank for many years, before finding her Bearcat career as the De Leon ISD middle school secretary. Sherry was a long-time devoted Bearcat fan. She loved her career and the opportunity it gave her to be a part of so many children's lives in the De Leon community. Sherry had many hobbies but especially loved cooking, crafting, gardening and painting. She loved birds and could tell you the names all kinds of birds. Sherry never met a stranger and always had a smile her face. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Sherry always put her family first and was faithful to help anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Bibby; sons, Matthew Bibby, Josh Bibby and wife, Sarah, and Zeke Bibby and wife, Krista; daughter, Asha Bibby; grandchildren, Jocelyn Bibby, Benjamin Manley, Lexi Bibby, Bella Bibby, Cassius Bibby and Raya Bibby; mother, Freda Riggs; brother, Stephen Riggs and wife, Beth; sisters-in-law, Mary Riggs and Tracy Riggs; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Sherry has been reunited with her son, James Allan Bibby; father, James Riggs; and brother, Michael Riggs.

A celebration of Sherry's life was held Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Brother Johnny Hart officiating. Graveside services followed in Downing Cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite #526, Dallas, Texas 75244 or to the Desdemona First Baptist Church, in honor of Sherry.
