DE LEON Shirley Ann Ashley, 70, of De Leon, Texas, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at her residence. She was born May 18, 1939, in Decatur, Texas, to John Arvid Berg and Stella Pearl Milligan.
She married Tommy Ashley Aug. 25, 1956, in Wareka, Okla. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and was a very devoted grandmother. She had lived in De Leon several years, having previously lived in Odessa. She was a member of St. Joe Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tommy Ashley of De Leon; mother, Stella Riddle of Bowie; two sons, Jeff Ashley and wife Kristi of Tolar and Steve Ashley of Odessa; sisters, Patsy Berg of Runaway Bay and Kay Haberman and husband Roy of Gorman; sister-in-law, Jeanne and Charlie Daniels of Holiday; grandchildren, Josh and Sarah Ashley, Rick and Thanh Ashley, Nicki, Staci and Ashley Ashley; three great-grandchildren; very special friends, Lannes and Beth Callison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Berg.
Services were held Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Joe Baptist Church. Burial followed at De Leon Cemetery with Jackie Auvenshine and Trey Meyers officiating. Musicians were Vicki Robinett, Trey Meyers, Carol Ann Johnson and Lisa Barkes
Pallbearers were Randy Haberman, Juble Brown, Rodney Moore, Ray Blackburn, Bob Blackburn and Randall Blackburn.
