Susan Rene Cogburn, age 64, passed away unexpectedly August 29, 2021 at Comanche County Medical Center.  She was born April 8, 1957 in Odessa, the daughter of Clarence and Betty Lee (Bingham) Pell.

She married her best friend, Jackie Wayne Cogburn, and lived in De Leon most of their life together. They celebrated 46 years of marriage in January.  She worked for many years in the nursing homes and hospitals in the areas. She loved working with people enriching their lives. She attended Tarleton State University where she earned her degree in Social Work.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Bell Spencer and Mary Breshers and husband, Butch; brother, Jessie Pell; and step-daughter, Kimberly Lee. Surviving in addition to her husband, Starla Dyson and husband, Cord, and Jason Cogburn and wife, Laurie; six grandchildren, Garion Cogburn, Ethan Cogburn, Hannah Dyson, Emily Dyson, Kennedi Dyson and Taylor Lee; one sister, Evelyn Floyd and husband, Jerry; and many nieces and nephews.

No services are immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
