Susan Louise Perkins, 59 of Maypearl, Texas died unexpectedly on December 19, 2015 in Comanche, Texas.

She was born on April 28, 1956 to Cecil Elwayne and Louise Perkins in Dallas, Texas.

She was a teacher and was a lifelong advocate for children's reading programs.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Elwayne and her brother, Cecil Ray.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Smith; her children: Stacey Alvarado-Smith and Cody Smith, Gabriel Alvarado and Amber Brown; her grandchildren: Tabitha Danielle, Sarah Nicole, Grayson Brock, Kaden Austin, and Abigail Bryant; her mother: Louise Perkins; her sisters: Debra McDowell and Christi Leanne Bennington; her sisters in law: Dora Alvarado, Rebecca Alvarado, and Debbie Smith; her brothers in law: David Smith, Bobby Alvarado, and Javier Alvarado; her loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many, many friends.

Her memorial service will be held in Sipe Springs, Texas at the Lodge on December 31, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. The address is 4417 FM 1477, Comanche, Texas 76442.
