Obituary

Tanya Jan Thacker, 80, of Dublin, peacefully passed away July 18, 2024, in Stephenville. She was born October 9, 1943, in Abilene, Texas to Jack Hamilton and Rachel Hamilton. Tanya married her loving husband Neil A. Thacker February 10, 1967. He preceded her in death by only four weeks. They are eternally reunited in the presence of their Lord.

Tanya and Neil were long time active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Stephenville. Tanya loved their church and church family. She was a teacher for over twenty-five years, working for various school districts in Texas. She had such a love of teaching and shaping the lives of children. Tanya enjoyed many hobbies including reading, soaking in full moon appearances, and enjoyed all water activities. One of her very favorite occasions is when she would have all her children and grandchildren at their home for swimming and family meals. She always had the "gift of gab" and loved to visit with everyone. She was extremely motherly to all and treated everyone like family. Tanya's family was the center of her life and her greatest joy. She was a devoted wife, selfless mother, special grandmother, loving sister and aunt, and loyal friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Dana Bibby (Randy); son-in-law, Johnny Munholland; daughter, Cindy Forrest; son, Tobe Thacker ( Maurine); grandchildren, Misty Mendez (Pedro), Josh Keith, Jennifer Bibby, Sean Thacker (Katherine), Brandy Garza, Savanna Clark (Ian), Aram Thacker (Alex), Cole Thacker (Cristina), Brodi Forrest (Jordan), Cydni Forrest, Alyssa Thacker, Kaley Forrest, and Teancum Thacker; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters-in-law, Virginia Warner, Pat Hamilton, Marcia Hamilton, Joyce Murphy and Valerie Thacker; brothers-in-law, Phil Thacker (LaRae) and Andy Thacker (Nicole); numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family members.

Tanya has been reunited with her husband, Neil; daughter, Christy Munholland; son-in-law, Steven Forrest; parents, Jack and Rachel Hamilton; brothers, Sonny Hamilton, Tommy Hamilton and Billy Hamilton; brothers-in-law, Roy Thacker (Beverly) and Jay Thacker and George Murphy.
