Obituary

Thomas Eddie Moore, 92, a lifelong resident of De Leon, Texas met his Lord and Savior December 4, 2020. He was born July 29, 1928, in Comanche County, to Thomas Kavanaugh "T.K." Moore and Mable Faye Rogers Moore. Thomas married Clara Faye Bowen December 5, 1948, in De Leon. He and Clara Faye had a loving marriage of forty-seven years until she passed in 1995. Thomas married Earlene Kimmell February 2, 2002, and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage of eighteen years.

Thomas graduated from De Leon High School Class of 1945. He farmed and ranched for many decades as he and Clara Faye raised their young family. Later in life, he was employed with Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service for over a decade and then worked for almost twenty years for Production Credit Association, ultimately retiring in 1995 from his position as Vice President. Thomas enjoyed many hobbies in life including spending time outdoors, working cattle, riding horses, yard work, and traveling. He and Earlene loved gathering with their many dear friends to play 84 and 42.

Thomas was a long-time member of De Leon First Baptist Church. He was a devoted servant to God and a faithful disciple from a young age. He began teaching Sunday School at age eighteen and continued for over seventy years. He taught all ages of people throughout his life from children to adults older than he, and served as the Church Sunday School Superintendent. He enjoyed the Loyalty Sunday School class for the past several years. Thomas was a loving and devoted husband to both Clara Faye and Earlene, an attentive father, a loving grandfather and great-grandfather, a caring brother, and a loyal friend to so many. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Earlene; children, Dr. Eddie Moore (Jeanette), Judge Randy Moore (Tina), and Polly Voss (Gerald); step-children, Larry Kimmell (Mary) and Lanell Upshaw (Sam); sisters, Clara Sanders and Bettie Sue Strube (Carl); grandchildren, Erin Walker (Jeremy), Ethan Moore (Sarah), Jason Moore, Tabitha Corbin (Grant), James Moore, Mandy Willis (Greg), Kevin Voss (Kinsi), and Bryan Voss (fiancé, Sloan Harris); step-grandchildren, Jason Upshaw (Brittany), Jana Wright (Mike), Kody Kimmell (Misty) and Kobe Kimmell (Lindsey); twenty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Thomas was preceded by his first wife, Clara Faye Bowen Moore; parents, T.K. and Mable Moore; daughter, Pamela Joy Moore; two brothers, Gene Moore (Barbara) and Gary Don Moore; and brother-n-law, Wayne Sanders.

Due to current Covid19 safety concerns, the Moore family held a private family service in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Kenneth Wilson and Brother Daniel Harper officiating. The family appreciates your understanding of the graveside safety regulations and is thankful for your continued prayers and kind thoughts during this difficult time. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, in memory of Thomas.
