Tommy Ray Frost, peacefully passed away one day short of his 87 th birthday on October 24, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in the family home October 25, 1933, in De Leon, Texas to Ray Mun Frost and Clydie Ora Brown Frost. Tommy married his loving wife of sixty-four years, Sherlean Jackson on August 15, 1956, in Waurika, Oklahoma.
Tommy graduated from Comyn High School Class of 1952. Tommy was a long-time member of De Leon First Baptist Church. Tommy retired from the United States Postal Service after forty-five years of dedicated service as a Rural Route Carrier. He received the One Milllion Mile Award during his postal career. Tommy enjoyed many hobbies throughout this life including raising and riding horses and going to the horse races in Ruidoso with family and friends. He loved spending time outdoors in God's country, farming, fishing, hunting, and being with this family. Tommy loved attending ballgames of all kinds and supporting the De Leon Bearcats. He also enjoyed treats, especially chocolate. His family meant everything to him. He was a loving and devoted husband, caring and attentive father, doting grandfather, and sincere friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tommy leaves behind a loving legacy in his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sherlean Frost of De Leon; daughter, Gaytha Frost of Santa Anna; son, Ronnie Frost (Kandice) of De Leon; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bess Curb (Dale) of Gorman, Ora Mae Campbell (Jim) of Run Away Bay, Wanda Layman of De Leon, and Frances Leach of Tulia; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; two great-grandchildren, Memphis Magin and Kreek Magin; and two brothers, Archie Frost and J.B. Frost.
The Frost family would like to thank Tommy's caregivers including the Solaris Hospice team, and his personal nurses Karen, Merry, Yvette, and Tina for their attentive and compassionate care for Tommy. Funeral services celebrating Tommy's life were held Monday, October 26, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at De Leon First Baptist Church with Brother Daniel Harper officiating. Interment followed in De Leon Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Matt Magin, LD Whitehead, Dustin Frost, David Stalcup, Tanner James, Ro Sidon, Jayson Jackson, Dale Burb, Riley Curb, Tommy Scott Curb, Brody Bland, Kash Magin and Max Keith.
