Tony Vera, 62, of De Leon, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014. He was born October 9, 1951, in Devine, Texas to Ysac and Madline Reil Vera.

Tony had lived in the De Leon and Stephenville areas his entire life. He was self-employed in the dairy industry and was a dedicated worker. Tony was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was especially proud of his grandchildren.

He liked watching westerns, working outdoors and fishing. Tony had many loving friends and extended family and will be missed by beyond measure.

He is survived by his children, Sheila Moss and husband, David, Tonya, Scotty and Brandon Grimshaw; grandchildren, Brad Moss, Aaron Moss and Hayden Moss; sister, Linda Rodriguez; brothers, Johnnie Vera, Frank Vera and wife, Mary, Dan Vera and wife, Connie, George Vera and wife, Millie, and Ricky Vera and wife, Sheri; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.

Tony was preceded by his parents; and sisters, Isabel McLearen, Mary Lerma, Virginia Vera and Angelita Reyes.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery. Pastor Elwayne Schaeffer officiated the services.

Pallbearers were Corey Vera, Ricky Vera, David Moss, Jordan Hardin, Joey Hardin and Bubba Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Pribble and Jordan Moss.
