Una Marie Houk Armstrong, 88, of Dublin and formerly of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Sunday, December 6, 2015.

She was born August 10, 1927, to William Edward Houk and Anna LaUna Hines Houk in Alexander, Texas. Marie married Loyd Lester Armstrong January 14, 1947, in Dublin, Texas.

Marie owned and operated Armstrong Insurance in De Leon for many years. She was a long-time member of Comyn Baptist Church. Marie loved playing 42, crocheting, sewing and cooking. She was a dedicated member of the DAV and the Order of the Eastern Star #693. She was always her happiest when spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her sweet grandkids.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Burlison and husband, Daniel, and Janie Welch and husband, Connie; grandchildren, Sanna Caffin and husband, Joe, Cheryl Huckabee and husband, Mark, Clint Burlison, Rex Welch and wife, Christi, and Misty Hollingsworth and husband, Jeff; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Dorothy Nell Houk Barnes; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded by her husband, Loyd Lester Armstrong; parents, William and Anna Houk; brother, Jessie Ray Houk and sister, Ella Marguerite Houk McKinney.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 10, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Brother Ray Seckinger and Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating. Gravesides services followed in Dublin Liveoak Cemetery.
