Ventura Chavarria, 54, of De Leon, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born May 27, 1960, in Lampasas, Texas, to Isabel and Maria Gonzales.

Ventura worked as a nurse assistant for many years. She was always a dedicated and hard worker in whatever she did. Ventura enjoyed watching all sports. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Texas Rangers fan. She enjoyed gardening, playing with her dogs, Barney and Henry, and cooking for her family. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was happiest while spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ventura was a devoted caregiver and will be missed beyond measure.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Gonzales and wife, Christina, Gustavo Chavarria, and Jorge Gonzalez; daughters, Kristy Aguillon and husband, Jaime, Tiffany Estrada, and Niki Mendez and husband, Robert; brothers, Santos Gonzales and Willie Gonzales; sisters, Janie Gonzales, Isabel Gomez, MaryAnn Gonzales, Rosa Frausto and Adelina Gonzales; grandchildren, Kiana Gonzales, Trinity Gonzales, Dominic Gonzales, Anika Prine, Genesis Mendez, Sofia Mendez, Elisa Estrada, Ellie Arreguin, Brianna Aguillon and Jamie Aguillon; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.

Ventura was preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Maria Gonzales; brothers, Joe Gonzales, Frank Gonzales and Nasario Gonzales; and sister, Dominga Rangel.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Pastor Nic Burleson officiating. Graveside services followed in De Leon Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Santos Gonzales, Angel Gonzales, Mark Gonzales, Michael Gonzales, Diego Gonzales and Jorge Ojeda.
