Vernell Joiner Miears' Obituary
Vernell "Aunt Nellie" Joiner Miears, 92, formerly of De Leon, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015.
She was born November 18, 1922, in Comanche County to Melvin Raymond Joiner and Estelle Sanders Joiner. She married Robert "Skeex" Miears August 28, 1948, in Arizona.
Vernell was Baptist. She and Skeex moved to Comanche from De Leon in 2006. She was a devoted and loving homemaker. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, planting flowers and traveling. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible.
She is survived by her sister, Cristell Joiner Scott; nephews, Phil, Ronnie, Mike, Marc and Jeff; numerous great-nephews and great-nieces; and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Skeex; parents; sisters, Evelyn Abel and Charlotte Parker; and nephew, Larry Bob Abel.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 1:00
p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Kenneth Wilson officiating.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the De Leon Senior Citizen Center at 133 N. Ball Park Loop, De Leon, in memory of "Aunt Nellie".
