Wanda LaVerne Fox Thetford, 82, of De Leon, passed from this life Friday, January 14, 2022. She was born May 3, 1939, in Gorman.

Wanda retired from the medical field as a Licensed Vocational Nurse after many years of dedicated service. Wanda thoroughly enjoyed cooking and collected many cookbooks over the years. She was a loving wife, loving sister and aunt, and loyal friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Sides and husband, Sherman; brother, Randy Rainey and wife, Joyce J.; nephews, Brent Evans and Michele, Bradley Sides and wife, Leah, Brandon Sides, Matt Rainey and wife, Kenna, Joel Rainey and wife, Brittany, and Mark Rainey and wife, Christina; and niece, Amy Rainey. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thetford; mother, Winnie Rainey; dad, T.J. Rainey; and brothers, Jack Rainey, Larry Rainey, and Rodger Rainey.

A celebration of Wanda's life will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in Desdemona Cemetery with Brother Denver Rainey officiating.
