Wanda Jene
Parker
Jun 6, 1949 — Jan 7, 2023
Wanda Jene Parker, 73, of De Leon and formerly of Liberty Hill, Texas, peacefully passed from this life January 7, 2023, at her home. She was born June 6, 1949, in Austin, Texas to Elmer Hyden and Zetty Mitchell Hyden.
Wanda moved from Liberty Hill to De Leon in 2004. Wanda had many occupations during her life but a common thread within her working career was that she was almost always a caregiver for others. She was an EMT and Firefighter when she lived in Liberty Hill. She genuinely loved to help others however she could. She loved gardening, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Her family was the center of her life, and her greatest joy. Wanda also loved all animals. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. Her cheerful disposition will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Earl Parker, Jr., Michael Allen Parker (Jennifer), and Jacob Wiley Parker (Renee); daughter, Wendy Swindle (Allen); grandchildren, Julie Brown, Tanner Parker, Haley Parker, and Trey Parker; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services celebrating Wanda's life were held Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home with Buddy Hyden officiating. If desired, memorial contributions in memory of Wanda may be made to the American Cancer Society.
