Obituary

Wayland Chupp, 75, of De Leon, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014, in De Leon.

He was born September 9, 1939, in Gorman to Kenneth Gilder Chupp and Vivian Mildred Rumfield Chupp. He married Brenda Lamoyne Chupp May 29, 1959, in Gorman.

Wayland lived in the De Leon community his entire life. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church of De Leon. Wayland retired from law enforcement and farming. He enjoyed dove hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of the De Leon Volunteer Fire Department and served as the County Fire Marshall for several years. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed beyond measure.

He is survived by his daughters, Pam Chupp Abbe and husband, Jack, and Sherri Chupp; grandsons, Kiley Abbe and wife, Gynnalyn, and Kolby Abbe and fiancé, Ashley Parske; great-granddaughters, Brie Abbe and Annabeth Abbe; and great-grandson, Kayson Abbe; and other extended family. Wayland was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Chupp; and parents, Kenneth and Vivian Chupp.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Brother Jackie Auvenshine officiating. LaRessie Wilkerson, Nicky Wilkerson and Beth Callison provided music. Serving as pallbearers were Kiley Abbe, Brandon McDonald, Lance Lampman, Jeremy Sparger, Mark Nowlin, Joe Burnett, Heath Matteson, and Michael Reyna.
