Obituary

Waylon Eugene Moore, born June 6, 1938. A tall handsome man with an explosive mind, passed away Saturday the 19, 2022, at the age of eighty-three.

Waylon always wanted to be a rancher, landowner, raise cattle and farm. This is what he found on the dusty County Road 463, 6 miles from town in De Leon, Texas. There he lived for over 30 years. He loved his family and friends, Fox News, shopping for groceries, and his snack box filled with Snickers, Ritz Crackers and Chips. If it was broken, he could fix it, but he couldn't throw it away and he had to keep it! He never wore a watch. He had his own time in getting things done. It would happen when he was ready.

Being born again as a young man, he loved the Lord. He knew the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and kept it close to him. Some didn't know him, some didn't like him, and some loved him. Remembering Waylon in his Hanes t-shirt (with a pocket) sweatpants, his Farley ball cap turned backwards, greasy hands driving his old tractor making each row perfectly straight, all the while dreaming about the universe. Yes, he missed his calling not being able to go to college. He loved a starry night! Fly away Waylon. You have put your glasses down. You'll know how many stars there are and all the questions you wondered about are clear as the gates have opened and welcomed you into the universe of Heaven.

Waylon is survived by his sons, Arnold Moore, Ronald Moore and wife, Zora, Donald Moore and wife, Melanie, and Bryan Moore; grandchildren, Angela Moore, Jennifer Pettingail, Regina Moore Crum, and Jacob Moore; five great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Moore and wife, Becky; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Waylon was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond E. Moore and Juanita J. Ripley Moore; and sister, Patsy.
