Obituary

William (Bill) Plaunty, passed from this life December 23, 2023, at the age of 59. He is now fully restored in the presence of Jesus. Bill was born November 12, 1964, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Francis Albert Plaunty and Helen Mae Stone Plaunty. Bill married his bride Baylor Brown on April 11, 2009.

Bill was raised in a military family and moved many times to accommodate a new military assignment. He graduated from Kingman High School in Kingman, Arizona in 1983.  Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country on a submarine. He served four years of active duty and two years inactive. In his inactive years, he worked as a civil engineer for the United States Navy.  Bill then moved on to becoming a Master Brewer for Smutty Nose Brewing Company, designing a pale ale that they still use today.  Bill moved to Texas in the 1990's to help his dad on the farm.  He worked hard earning his Journeyman's Plumbing License and continued to achieve his Master Plumber's License in order to open his own company, Just Once Plumbing.  He has proudly served the residents of Comanche County for several years. Bill was a Past Master at the Armstrong Masonic Lodge #445 and was endowed with a lifetime membership.

Bill enjoyed any activity that allowed him to spend time outdoors.  He loved to hunt, fish, and farm.  Bill was a member at Double N Cowboy Church and had the privilege of helping baptize his daughter there.  Bill's greatest joy in his life was his family. Nothing meant more to him than being a father to his daughter, Ella Faith Plaunty and son, Silas Gray Plaunty. They were truly the light of his life and his greatest love.  Bill was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. While their hearts are broken, Bill's family takes great comfort in knowing that he is healed and in the presence of a saving and loving God for eternity.

Bill is survived by his wife, Baylor Plaunty; children, Ella Faith and Silas Gray; sister, Caroline Pettigrew; sisters-in-law, Jessica Brown, Tennessee Arey and husband Olen, Candyce Hewett, Courtney Bowen, Callie Carey and husband Marshall; numerous nieces and nephews, and other extended family.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Helen Plaunty; and brother Kenneth Plaunty.

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy Holleman officiating.  If desired, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inc. at 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263, an organization very special to the Plaunty family.
